KNYSNA AREA

Azure House is an ideal base from which to explore Knysna and the Garden Route.

Visit our Waterfront, 'The Knysna Quays', where you can board the Outeniqua Choo-Tjoe,
South  Africa's oldest working steam train, and take a trip through the Lake districts or take a
ferry ride into the famous Knysna Heads. At the Quays you will also be able to explore the shops,
flea market, sample our oysters, taste our local beer or even take a luxury yacht cruise into
the Indian Ocean.
The town itself offers a feast or art galleries, shops, banks, flea markets, cinemas, superb
restaurants, coffee shops and pubs. Visitors can safely spend the day or evenings experiencing the
town on foot with no need to use your vehicle. For the more energetic, there are the forests to be
explored on foot or mountain bikes, in addition to abseiling, bungi jumping, canoeing,
fishing and horseriding.

Knysna is central to at least 10 top class Golf courses, the most famous
of which are Fancourt in George and Sparrebosch in Knysna,
located spectacularly on the Eastern Head.

                    PLETTENBERG BAY

On the way to Plettenberg Bay, stop and talk to the elephants
and explore the craft markets displaying arts and crafts produced by
our artistic and colourful community. At Plettenberg Bay, explore the Robberg Nature
Reserve, take one of the trips offering whale and dolphin watching or just enjoy miles of
sand, sea, sun and solitude of the magnificent beaches.

Further along visit the sanctuary at Monkeyland, the unspoilt views and beaches of Nature's
Valley and wind through the Blaaukrantz and Tsitsikamma forest to Stormsriver Mouth.

Cross the suspension bridge and hike along the Otter Trail to the waterfall or try
blackwater tubing or even bungi jump from the highest point in Africa.

OUDTSHOORN & MOSSEL BAY

Another exciting day could take you to Oudtshoorn where you
can visit an Ostrich farm and see how the ostrich barons used to live.

Visit the famous and spectacular Cango Caves, pat a Cheetah at the Wild Life Range
and pop in at the Crocodile Farm. If you have time, you could descend through the
Robinson Pass to Mossel Bay to visit the oldest Post Office in Southern Africa and the old
Post Office Tree, The Museum and Model Boat Exhibition. You could even go shark-cage diving
and come face to face with a Great White.
...on reflection, we think you should leave Mossel Bay and its surrounds for another day.

Whatever you do, don't rush your vacation, as there is plenty to see and do in this
wonderful Garden of Eden.
We will help you plan your excursions and do whatever is necessary to make
your visit a memorable one !!
